50th Anniversary Installation Nov 2020

Tuesday 26 November 2019 was a very special day as it marked the celebration of the 50th anniversary meeting of the Lodge, the anniversary having actually been on the 3 October. The Installation Meeting was, therefore, the nearest date, on which to celebrate this tremendous event.

The day started with a note of sadness as the Lodge bade a formal farewell to W.Bro. Michael Herschell, who had been so instrumental in planning the events of the 50th anniversary but was, sadly, not to see the event with us.

The meeting itself was a joyous affair with W.Bro. Vic Heakin being proclaimed as Worshipful Master for another 12 months. While this was, in itself, a special event for W.Bro. Vic, it was made even  more so by the fact that, prior to the proclamation, he Passed his son, Quinsey, who can be seen in the group picture in the front row on the far left.

An excellent meeting was enjoyed by all and it was made all the better by a good number of guests, especially a large delegation from our Mother Lodge, Lodge of Rectitude 5882.

At the Festive Board, everyone present was given a booklet containing a brief Lodge history. Much work had been completed by Bro. Denis Grimsey to get the booklet together. With Bro. Denis poised to become Worshipful Master next year, the Lodge can look forward to a solid future. The brochure can be seen by clicking on the thumbnail to the right.

As if all that were not enough, the Lodge was able to welcome to the Festive Board W.Bro. Eddy Roberts, who was celebrating his 30 years in Freemasonry and was presented with his 30 year certificate at the Festive Board to the acclamation of all present. W.Bro. Eddy was accompanied by his son, Bro. Steve Roberts, and both can be seen below proudly displaying the citation.

As mentioned above, a photograph was taken for Lodge records and can be seen below.

With a full year's work planned, the Lodge looks set to be busy for the immediate future. If you are interested in becoming a Freemason, or wish to become a joining member of Rivermead Lodge, do not hesitate to use our contact page to contact us.
